“[Fated to Drown is] an outstanding record self-produced by Oddeline from the songwriting to artwork.”

Bio
Known for weaving dreamy vintage sounds into thoughtful, carefully crafted songs, Oddeline is the name given to the work of singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Marianne Keuleman.
Heavily influenced by 1960s jazz-folk like Nick Drake and Fairport Convention, with a DIY attitude rooted in a love of post punk and early indie bands, Oddeline started out playing live shows in Ottawa at 18 years old, and released her self-produced debut EP Fated to Drown three years later. Since then, she has been busy carving a unique path as an artist: from organizing community initiatives like Tunnelfest (a renegade folk festival held in pedestrian tunnels) to producing for other artists (such as Mars Aspen’s 2023 folk-pop single “overgrown”) to founding a collaborative production house called Sounds Odd (where artists pool skills and resources to produce high quality music, videos, and events).
Her captivating live shows and debut record have earned her recognition from Folk Music Ontario, Carleton University's MusikOttawa showcase, Dominionated, Apt613, Neighbourhood Noise, and Live 88.5's Big Money Shot, along with opening slots with Blinker the Star and Current Swell. In 2024, Oddeline has a collection of songs ready for release that digs even deeper into her love of the darker elements of folk music, and she can’t wait to share them, live and on record!
“[As] the folky/jazzy EP unfolds, so too does Oddeline's determination to face her problems and to become a person she's proud of...Fated to Drown may sound hazy but it's full of courage.”
